We are dedicated to preserving Thailand's sacred heritage through comprehensive photographic documentation of every temple across the country.
This is a non-commercial archival project created to safeguard the cultural, architectural, and spiritual legacy of Thai temples for future generations. Our work documents not only the physical structures but also the rituals, ceremonies, art, and stories that make each temple unique.
Starting in 2027, we will systematically photograph and chronicle over 40,000 temples throughout Thailand, capturing their beauty, history, and significance. This archive will serve as a permanent record of Thailand's religious and cultural landscape.

Thailand's Most Complete Buddhist Temple Database
Thailand is home to more than 40,000 Buddhist temples — more than any other country on earth. They range from the grand royal wats of Bangkok, built by kings and covered in gold, to quiet village shrines deep in rural provinces that appear on no map and in no guidebook anywhere in the world.
Thai Temple Archive documents all of them. Every temple receives a dedicated page: full history, architectural classification, GPS coordinates, visiting hours, entry fees and photographic documentation.
Our archive spans every region of Thailand — Central Thailand and Bangkok, Northern Thailand and Chiang Mai, Northeast Thailand and Isan, Southern Thailand, Eastern Thailand and the Gulf coast, and Western Thailand. Every province. Every district. Every category of temple: royal wats, provincial temples, ancient Ayutthaya and Sukhothai ruins, Lanna temples of the north, Khmer sanctuaries of the northeast, forest monasteries, cave temples and Chinese Buddhist shrines.
Thai Temple Archive is an independent non-commercial project. No advertising. No paywalls. No commercial interests. Built by researchers and photographers dedicated to preserving Thailand's sacred heritage before it changes or disappears.
